Agriculture is the backbone of the economy of any country, either developed or developing. India is also an agriculture based nation. Agriculture plays an important role to driving and maintaining the economy of the country. Fifty percent of the raw material comes from agriculture including forests. Agriculture industry in India has prolonged and diversified influencing the daily lives of people in many ways. So, we can say that agriculture plays a vital role in the contribution of Indian economy and consequently it raises many career options.

There are so many employment opportunities for agriculture graduates in the banking sector also. The prestigious banks in India such as Reserve Bank of India, State Bank of India and other nationalised banks absorbs such agriculture graduates in their organisation as Field Officers, Probationary Officers (Agriculture), Rural Development Officers etc. and there is also a chance to serve in abroad as per their specialisation.
DETAILS OF THE COURSE
After 10+2 with good academic record students can apply in various prestigious agricultural engineering colleges in India. After successfully completion the four years degree course students are awarded with the bachelor of engineering / bachelor of technology degrees, through which they can apply for various positions in the agricultural field either in government or in private sector. Similarly, as per their qualification students can also pursue the other agricultural courses.
Students can also pursue their higher studies or research in abroad in the field of agriculture through Indian / International scholarships.
